International festival of street theater
From July 16 to 20, 2014, in Certaldo
Back to Certaldo for the 27th time "Mercantia", the festival of international street theater. Certaldo one of the most engaging and astounding medieval villages,will be swarmed with performing theater companies, groups and street bands.
As for the local handicraft there will be market, processing and installations all around evocative and catching views of the village (which is the home of writer Giovanni Boccaccio), to admire the craftsmanship of fine artisans masterfully creating and molding raw matters before your eyes! During the days of the festival, presenting the ticket Mercantia you are entitled to free entry in the Museum Praetorian Palace.
It's said "that in Mercantia never rains ...", all hopes are up for such a tradition to keep rolling!
